Sofia is still our little princess at 28 months now! She has grown up SO much these past few months. I call her our "little mamma". She wants to make sure that everyone is okay all the time. She gives hugs and kisses to anyone who appears hurt or sad and asks if you are okay. One afternoon, I went in to get her up from her nap. She wasn't quite ready to get up, so I laid down with her and yawned (didn't realize how tired I was til I layed down...) Sofia covered me up, stroked my face, kissed me on the cheek and then leaned over and said, "mamma's tired". She double checked to make sure I was covered up and then climbed out of the bed, closed the door to the room and left. I was perplexed and wondered if she really wanted me to take a nap...It was too cute! I got up and opened the door and she said, "no mamma, you're tired". I had to explain to her that I wasn't tired and that she could go with me to see if Giuliana was awake and that seemed to work...We have also entered the age where she is defiant and doesn't want to listen to ANYTHING...If I ask her to stop (if we are outside), she stops, looks back as if she is pondering whether to stay stopped, and then continues on. She has also started asking, "why?". I learned a trick though. Whenever she asks "why?" I counter back "why not?". We go back and forth about 5 times before she and I laugh and she forgets why she asked "why?" in the first place...Score 1 for me!
We sure LOVE Sofia and are grateful for her. She is loving in nature and is definitely a nuturer. Here a few more things we love about her:
-LOVES to be outside
-loves the water
-loves and is protective of Giuliana
-at the same time, she irritates her to no end by taking all of her toys
-says complete sentences
-can count to 20 and can say all of her alphabet
-knows and recognizes all of her letters and numbers
-loves to paint and color
-loves to play with all children
We are working on beginning readers and word associations week. Should be fun! Here are some pictures:
